LBHS Volleyball gets a sports editorial from Thomas Ayers

Well the way that the Lord Botetourt Cavaliers are playing so far in girls
volleyball, their overall record is 83-1 with 2 State Championships and on a 45-game winning streak, is impressive. They have not lost since
September 1st of last year and that was against Frank Cox 2-1 in a
tournament.

I gotta give them credit this team has been red hot and unstoppable and yeah, I get it that they’re a bigger school than James River, and I have
tremendous amount of respect for them and every team in the state of
Virginia.

They are on a mission that has never been done before and that is to win a 3rd straight State Championship and when you look at them on paper,
they are a good team. They have good players, they play hard and they
can hit the ball really well. I’m sure 100% that the other teams in
Class 3 will be nervous when they face this red hot Cavalier team in the
playoffs.

The other teams in Class 3 need to start getting prepared come playoff
time because when it comes to facing Lord Botetourt, the Cavaliers don’t mess around. They come prepared and ready to play.
Coach Conner is a great coach for the Cavaliers. I have tremendous amount of respect for her and her coaching staff.

Lord Botetourt defeated five teams over the weekend in a tournament
and last night defeated Northside 3-0.

Blue Ridge District tournament time is on us.
