Acreage Reporting: Reports Due by July 15th
Maps are now available at the Botetourt/Craig/Roanoke County FSA Office for acreage reporting purposes. Producers may pick them up any time during office hours. July 15, 2019: hay/pasture (acreage not enrolled in the Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program – NAP), corn, cotton, cover crops, CRP, grain sorghum, forage sorghum, peanuts, soybeans, tobacco, vegetables, and other spring/summer crops to your local FSA County Office.
In order to maintain program eligibility and benefits, producers must timely file acreage reports. Failure to file an acreage report by the crop acreage reporting deadline may result in ineligibility for future program benefits. Late-filed acreage reports will require the payment of a measurement service fee to FSA. FSA will not accept late-filed acreage reports provided more than a year after the acreage reporting deadline.
Producers are encouraged to file their acreage reports as soon as planting is completed.
Agricultural producers are reminded to consult with FSA and NRCS before breaking out new ground for production purposes as doing so without prior authorization may put a producer’s federal farm program benefits in jeopardy. This is especially true for land that must meet Highly Erodible Land (HEL) and Wetland Conservation (WC) provisions.
Landowners and operators need to complete the form AD-1026 – Highly Erodible Land Conservation (HELC) and Wetland Conservation (WC) Certification to identify the proposed action and allow FSA to determine whether a referral to Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) for further review is necessary.
