Fourth of July Activities

Chicken BBQ

Don’t want to cook? Drop by the Buchanan Town Park this Fourth of July at 11:00 am to purchase BBQ Meals To Go. Discover this longstanding tradition where chicken is slow roasted over an open pit all night, marinated in Junior Clark’s secret recipe resulting in a delicious tender chicken. The meal includes 1/2 of a chicken and two sides. Don’t be disappointed, come early before it all sells out.

Fireworks Displays

Buchanan will have two Fireworks Displays, the first is scheduled for Thursday, July 4th at 10:00 pm and the second on Saturday, July 6th at 10:00pm.

Fourth of July Parade

Main Street closes at 4:00 pm on Thursday, July 4th to allow for line up of the parade. The parade begins at 5:00 pm. This year’s parade will be led by the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Department.

Parade winners will be announced from Center Stage following the parade. Winners may pick up their trophies from the Carnival Office at the entrance of the Town Park
