New Laws go into effect today

Well folks here are a few of the laws that will effect the whole state but some the I-81 corridor including Botetourt.

7 cents per gallon gas tax along the I-81 corridor to pay for improvements. Yes. that is here.

No cell phones when driving in work zones. (But please, Use a bluetooth and do not text and drive!)

Bigger penalties on DUI 2- 10 years in prison

Court fines cannot bring suspension of driver’s licenses. $145 re-instatement fee for those already suspended.

Felony for animal cruelty and a fine up to 2,500. Tommie’s Law for the dog burned in Richmond.
