Broadband update: Botetourt moves forward with many expansion plans
Botetourt County is working hard to expand broadband service to the county. After a Broadband Summit in September 2018, the county committee and leadership has made strides in planning for the expansion.

a minimum of 25Mbps download and 3Mbps upload.
Broadband has evolved from an additional service telephone and cable companies could sell customers to an information necessity in today’s world. Broadband touches every facet of our lives: education, economic development, healthcare, public safety, civic engagement and overall quality of life.
Many communities, like Botetourt County, are defining strategies to bridge the divide between what was profitable to deliver by the private sector and an information service that every citizen needs.
