Mike Vineyard is running for Sheriff

Mike Vineyard

Mike Vineyard announced his intention to run for Sheriff of Botetourt County a year ago. He is seeking the Republican nomination. Here is what he wants you to know about his qualifications:

I am a United States Marine Combat Veteran with 33 years of law enforcement experience. I retired from the Roanoke City Police Department in 2011 after rising to the rank of Senior Detective. Currently,  I work as an investigator for the Commonwealth of Virginia and continue to work with all the Court systems at the local, state, and federal levels.

I have served on many Task Forces that have focused on specific criminal activity.  These task forces have targeted offenders leading to successful criminal prosecutions.

I have been married to my wife, Sheila, for 35 years and we have two children and three granddaughters. I have lived in Botetourt County for 25 years  where I  have raised my family and my children have gone to school.

I have a vested interest in Botetourt County and because of this, I am seeking the office of Sheriff. I am eager to offer my law enforcement experience to Botetourt County.
