Public Hearing for I-81 improvements 167.4- 169.5 in Buchanan is Jan 29

Proposed I-81 S-Curve Improvements Southbound Mile Markers 167.4-169.5 are coming to Buchanan Elementary
on Tuesday Jan. 20 at 5-7 p.m. .

The project is to improve safety in that area of I-81 in Botetourt County.

The improvements include widening the shoulders on two curves and applying a treatment to increase the pavement friction on the shoulders and travel lanes.

The hearing will beheld in open house format. Public comment will be taken and can also be sent to Kelly.Dunn@vdot.virginia.gov or mailed to Kelly Dunn at 731 Harrison Ave. Salem, VA 24153
