Recap of most important events in The Botetourt Bee since August

LBHS volleyball has won back to back state championships.

We would be remiss not to take advantage of a typically slow news week not to hit the summary button for our first five months of publication.

For the next few days expect some highlights interspersed with current events.

Sports:

First. Lord Botetourt Girl’s volleyball team repeated as state 3 A champions and they did so in quick fashion in the finals.

Second: Lord Botetourt football made it to the state 3 A semifinals before dropping to Heritage. However, more LBHS players were named to the All State 3 A first and second team than ever before in football. Evan Eller was named Defensive Player of the Year.

Third: James River Football had one of its best seasons ever. Beating 3A Alleghany handily was a testament to the River team. Perhaps the game of the season was against Giles Co. The Knights came back to win against Giles in an away game that will be talked about for years.
