Lord Botetourt wins Region with victory over Northside 23-7
Lord Botetourt Cavaliers played awesome football in their defeat of Northside (currently the Vikings are ranked No. 1 in State 3A.) The final 23-7.
A wintery type of night, at the end of the first quarter there was still no score. But soon LB warmed and ended the first half ahead 10 -0.
It was cold, in the 30s and Northside dropped a lot of passes. One nice moment of sportsmanship happened when Northside’s Fisher dropped a pass and LBHS DB Dylan Fralin patted him on the helmet. Sometimes you have that kind of night. Eventually, Northside scored a TD with 18 seconds left in the game.
The Cavs dominated the game on both offense and defense. They brought home the Region 3A trophy to Daleville after the final seconds ticked off.
The Cavaliers play at home against Heritage on Friday night in the state semi- finals.
