This is a major storm. Emergency management officials are currently in the process of planning for widespread power outages, downed trees, mudslides, and flood roadways. We need you to do your part and prepare now. Make sure that you pay close attention to local media. Sign up for our emergency notification system by visiting: https://botetourtva.gov/your-government/public-safety/ this will allow emergency officials to alert you of impending danger or the need to evacuate/shelter-in-place should the need arise.
As the forecasted track for Florence is narrowed down, local officials plan to keep you informed and up to date. We ask that you prepare for a significant wind and rain event that may knock out power for several days. Once more information is available, we will send out additional information.
