Amy Whitlow bakes treats for Botetourt and beyond

Amy Whitlow of the Cloverdale area is an 18-year-old baker. Saturdays find her at the Botetourt Farmer’s Market at the Daleville Town Center. She has been at the market since last fall with her baked goods in what she calls, amysdivinelydeliciousdesserts.wordpress.com

Homeschooled and now a student at Virginia Western Community College, she wants to be an ultrasound specialist, so her baking is her job. It is also her pleasure.

“I began baking at the age of 9 with instruction from my mother. My first retail experience came from Kids Made Market on Colonial Ave. in Roanoke.” She has had her baking company since the age of 14. Some of her specialties are dessert breads, like banana bread, cookies, cakes, cheese cake, pumpkin rolls and decorated cakes and cupcakes. Everything is made from scratch.

While the Farmer’s Market is seasonal she takes orders through her website all year where photos can be viewed of her creations.  Or she can be reached by phone. “I do special orders,” she said. Call her at 540-798-1467.
