Photo: Appaloosa Deer in western Botetourt!

For years in the Haymakertown Rd, Lee Lane and Breckinridge Mill Road area of western Botetourt, there have been albino and partially albino deer. This fawn, born in June, has scampered down Haymakertown Rd for the last six weeks and a number of folks have reported seeing him.

As luck would have it, we have a photo!

We call him the “Appaloosa Deer” due to his markings similar to the horse breed. In the upper left his mother, a normal-colored white tail deer browses the tree line.
