Southern Hospitality presented by Attic Productions opens tomorrow night

“If you’ve ever felt better knowing someone’s done something worse than you have, then you’ll love Southern Hospitality,” said Wyatt Ewell, the Director of Southern Hospitality. Ewell took some time before the final dress rehearsal to speak about the upcoming play.

“Fayro, Texas, is a tiny East Texas town that’s dying on the vine.  Stores like Clovis Sanford’s House of Meat, Super Smart Mart, and The Squat & Gobble have already closed.  The Futrelle family and their fellow citizens go hog-wild trying to attract a new business when they hear that its owner is looking to relocate.”

Ewell explained: “This play is the third and final installment in a trilogy of plays that is known as ‘The Futrellogy” because it centers on the Futrelle sisters of Fayro, Texas.  In fact, Jamie Wooten, one of the three playwrights, was a writer for “The Golden Girls”. Half of our cast of thirteen are alumni of Attic’s “Futrellogy” productions that we’ve produced over the past 16 years. Some of them will portray the same character, while others will portray new ones.”
