The Play That Goes Wrong opens on October 16th and runs through October 26th

Spit takes, lost dogs, breaking sets, a crumbling 4th wall, figurative (and literal) fires stir up a dramatic whodunit stage play.

Kerry Williams is Attic Productions’ Executive Artistic Director and the Director of The Play That Goes Wrong. Williams describes the production as, “a play that is a show where anything that shouldn’t happen on stage does happen on stage. You can kind of think of it like a murder mystery that collides with total theatrical chaos.”

The Play That Goes Wrong is about a mishap-filled opening night of the self-contained play, The Murder at Haversham Manor, and all of the problems its troupe of actors experience, explains Williams.

“There are a few adult themes, such as… murder,” Williams said with comedic timing. “While it is a murder mystery, it is a comedy with a non-serious tone and slapstick. Parents, please use your discretion with younger audience members (think PG). Expect to see a small amount of audience interaction as well.”

Williams remarks: “It’s a love letter to live theatre, where all of the chaos and everything else is what makes it fun. There’s nothing like live comedy. […] I want everyone to think of Attic as a place that they can go for a great show, and they feel like they got their money’s worth. Times are hard enough, so if you go to spend your money, I want to make sure that you feel like you walk away with an experience. I think really having that connection to other people is really important, and I think comedy is such a way to bring some joy to our lives as well.”
