New community development approved for Ashley Plantation

More housing off of Greenfield Street near Ashley Plantation received the nod from the Board of Supervisors after a public hearing on January 24, 2023. The meeting was held at the Botetourt County Administration Center at Greenfield in Amsterdam.

Greenfield Partners, LLC requested a rezoning of 53.4 acres of a 78.9 acre parcel from Agricultural (A-1) Use District to Residential (R-1) Use District, for the purpose of creating a single-family residential development.

Access to the development would be via Greenfield Street at the O’Hara Drive intersection, approximately 0.5 miles northeast of the Roanoke Road (US 220) and Greenfield Street intersection.

The project calls for 100 lots to be developed, according to information provided to the Supervisors. A list of performance requirements includes the creation of a Home Owners Association (HOA). Minimum house construction would be 1,800 feet.
