Tuskegee Airman from Botetourt featured at History Museum
2nd Lt. George Kydd III was a Tuskegee Botetourt pilot in the Army Air force during WWII His picture was shared by his son, Richard Kydd. Edward Barnett and his sister Judith Barnett researched and collected photographs and artifacts to document the history of the African American community in Botetourt.
Ms. Barnett has shared her collection with the Botetourt County Historical Society Museum in Fincastle. This exhibit for Black History month in February is called “Finding What Has Been Lost”. For more information call the Museum at 540-473-8394.

On Wednesday, The History Channel ran a great documentary on the Tuskegee Airmen. Robin Roberts, TV news personality, hosts the documentary. Her father was one of the Tuskegee Airmen.
