Vote in Person Absentee at Office of Elections/ Voter Registration in Fincastle begins Sept. 18


Make a note of these dates:

Sept. 18- Oct. 31 you can vote absentee in the voter registrar’s office in Fincastle.

Two dates are Saturdays, Oct. 24 and Oct. 31. Regular hours 8:30-4:30

You may vote in person at the Office from Sept 18 forward to Oct, 30 from 8:30 to 4:30 M-F. And, those 2 Saturdays ending Oct. 31.

Young folk who are 18 by November 3, can register to vote and vote in the election. Call the voter registrar’s office at 540-473-8235. According to the state website, you must be registered 22 days prior to the General Election. But why wait?

Office of Elections Location: 2 E Main Street in the Town of Fincastle.

Registered voters will vote on the OptiScan machine like you have at the polls. It records the vote as well as keeps a paper copy of the ballot.

Since July 1, 2020 due to new laws in the state of Virginia you do not have to have a reason for why you are voting absentee.

Just remember You do not have to vote absentee by mail. After many remarks on our Facebook post about the recent influx of vote by mail applications sent by a 3rd party organization, it became clear the simple solution is to vote in person absentee.

Voter Registrar Traci Spradlin Clark and her staff are gearing up for this election, so they will be expectiong more in person absentee voting. She commented and provided much info on those ballot applications.

Be sure to being your driver’s license or appropriate Identification to the office just as you would to the polls.
