Support LBHS Seniors 2020 plans special event for graduates May 17

LBHS Class of 2020

Support LBHS Seniors 2020 is a group of family, friends and interested parties planning to make some special things happen for the Class of 2020 whose Senior year was disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Like many communities through out the United States, Botetourt County Schools will hold a virtual graduation for the Seniors. Locally many other areas and yes, some school divisions are holding special events.

A group of parents of Seniors formed a Support the Class of 2020 o FB . (The same has happened at James River High School.) When the School Board opted not to participate in special activities, the Facebook group formed.

The major event will be as follows:

Cruis-in in Daleville

“After the Baccalaureate service on Sunday, May 17th parents can leave and go find a spot at one of the designated area along the “parade/cruise loop” which will be between Bellacino’s and the Town Center.”

Students will decorate cars and form a line to ride down US 220 N to the Daleville Town Center.

Parents, friends and supporters can park along the way from Bellacinos to the Daleville Town Center at the following parking lots.

Bellacino’s
Freedom First Credit Union
Strip Mall across from LB
Enchanted Bliss
Cupcakes and Canine’s (formerly cupcake cottage by Papa Johns

The community is also invited to participate as watchers! Signs, horn toots, school colors, cheers and waves are encouraged. Social distancing should be practiced at the lots.

Yard signs can be ordered from Prestige Gymnastics for $15.
