Planning Commission is Monday May 11 6 p.m. lots going on with Rocky Forge Wind Energy
The regular monthly meeting of the Botetourt County Planning Commission will have much about the results of the extra height of the proposed windmills on North Mountain in Northern Botetourt County. A public hearing for the possibility of wind turbines up to 680 feet will be held during the meeting which starts at 6 pm. Currently the turbines can only be 550 feet by previous action some five years ago.
Rocky Forge said that taller turbines could mean fewer turbines. At a 2019 Board of Supervisors meeting, the public weighed in for and against the project by the dozens.
