Tyree takes over the helm at Three Li’l Pigs

Brian Tyree and Bill Gaul at three Li’l Pigs smoker! Yum!

Brian Tyree of Fincastle is the new owner at Three Li’l Pigs in Daleville. Here’s a couple of facts about Brian. He s an Eagle Scout. He graduated from James River High School and VCU. He worked at Richmond’s Buzz and Ned’s a great BBQ place that is famous for good food and beating Food Network’s Bobby Flay in a BBQ throw down.

Tyree is quick to point out.” I was not working there yet, when the throw down occurred.” But still for those of us who love the Richmond eatery, it is pure wonder by associaition.

Founders of Three Li’l Pigs, Bill and Dreama Gaul have employed him for the past 4 years at ” The Pig.” So Tyree knows his way around the Three Li’l Pigs kitchen.

Bill Gaul said, “We were here in Daleville for 16 years and 14 years in Roanoke. We felt it was time to move on and Brian was interested. ” The Gaul’s will continue to help out during the transistion.

The menu has remained the same, with a few additions. Smoked Salmon flatbread, Buffalo Chicken rangoons, jerk tacos, Hawaiian tacos are some of the things Tyree has added over his time at the restuarant.

With the help of his Dad and Mom, Ronald and Marie of Fincastle, Tyree was adding a covered shelter for the wood used in the smoker. He said, ” I learned grilling from my Dad.”

Both Tyree and Gaul said, “There won’t be many changes to what we have served successfully for years.” But, around the first of the year there may be a few new menu items. Until then enjoy the delictable pork BBQ, sides and desserts. By all means, have a beer if you are so inclined to go with the meal. So Botetourt. Stop by. Check it out!
