Botetourt donates to DSLCC’s Bubbles, Bands and Brunch event 9/15

Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Educational Foundation is once again hosting its biennial fundraiser, “Bubbles, Bands & Brunch—Tailgate Edition,” which will be held Sunday, September 15 at 12:30 p.m. in the Convocation Center on the Clifton Forge campus. According to Educational Foundation Director Rachael Thompson, this year’s event will take on the festive atmosphere of everyone’s favorite sporting activity – the tailgate party! Guests are invited to wear their favorite sports team apparel or colors.

Catering will be provided by Schaal’s Catering and Events of Fincastle and features something for everyone – with a tailgate-themed menu, including sliders, shrimp and grits, ribs, and southern fried pecan encrusted chicken and waffles.  In addition, local breweries and vineyards will be on hand to offer a sampling of brews, ciders, and wines, including Blue Ridge Vineyard, Jack Mason’s Brewing, and Bacova Beer Company. Tailgate games and performances by area high school bands, including Alleghany, Covington, and Bath County high schools, will top off the day.  A silent auction of more than twenty items will also take place, featuring a handmade piece by Caldwell Mountain Copper, Botetourt Family YMCA three-month membership, a private chef experience, golf for four on The Greenbrier’s Old White TPC, and a stay at the Hillcrest Mansion Inn, including silver service breakfast for two and couples’ massages.

The Foundation thanks its many sponsors, donors, and partners, including several from Botetourt County – the Proffit/ Vaughn family (benefactor), Bank of Botetourt (patron), Terry Austin for House of Delegates (sponsor), Bank of Fincastle (sponsor), Botetourt Family YMCA (silent auction donor), Caldwell Mountain Copper (silent auction donor), Blue Ridge Vineyard (wine tasting partner), and Schaal’s Catering (in kind contributor).

Seating is limited.  Tickets may be purchased anytime, as long as seats remain available, at www.dslcc.edu/bubbles.  Call (540) 863-2934 or email rthompson@dslcc.edu for more information.
