Bank of Botetourt Hires Hart as SVP – Chief Strategic & Retail Officer

Bank of Botetourt is pleased to announce Laurie Hart has joined the Bank as Senior Vice President – Chief Strategic and Retail Officer. Laurie brings with her over thirty-five years of financial experience accumulating a wealth of industry knowledge throughout her career. Most recently, she was the Chief Retail Banking and Deposit Officer at HomeTown Bank. Laurie has extensive expertise across commercial, retail and ancillary services including treasury and merchant services, digital banking, investments and product development. She will manage the oversight of all retail offices, marketing, treasury and deposit services, merchant services and sales. Laurie said, “I am very excited to join the great team at Bank of Botetourt as they continue to grow and expand their footprint. Community banks are the lifeblood of the communities they serve, and Bank of Botetourt is no exception, offering today’s technology services with a personal touch.” Her primary office location will be at the Bank’s Daleville Town Center Office.

A native of the Roanoke Valley, Laurie has deep roots within the community and throughout the region. Her career in banking moved her to Charlotte, North Carolina for almost ten years before she and her husband Bill moved back to raise their son, David. Laurie double majored at Roanoke College with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Economics. She is a current member of the Virginia Bankers Association Government Relations Committee and serves on the St. Andrews Catholic Church Parish Finance Council. She has served on the boards of The Roanoke Symphony and The Jefferson Center. Laurie also chaired the major gifts campaign for her church when it raised several million for necessary repairs and restoration. 

Bank of Botetourt was chartered in 1899 and operates twelve retail offices in Botetourt, Rockbridge, Roanoke, and Franklin counties and the City of Salem, all in Virginia. Bank of Botetourt also operates a mortgage division, Virginia Mountain Mortgage and a financial services division, Botetourt Wealth Management.
