ALCOVA awarded Hometown Hero award to NFF’s Jason Hogancamp

ALCOVA Hometown Hero Award winner Jason Hogancamp with Lois Fritz. They co-direct New Freedom Farm in Buchanan.

Ret. US army Sgt. Jason Hogancamp was awarded the ALCOVA Mortgage Hometown Hero award on Fri. Jan. 4 at the Botetourt Community Center south of Buchanan. Hogancamp is a disabled veteran who helps other veterans deal with PTSA by working with horses.

He was given a plaque and a $500 check . He is veteran of many conflicts overseas over the past 25 years. He thanked the assembly for being there with him for the ceremony. Recently he became co-director of New Freedom Farm. Lois Dawn Fritz the founder of NFF said, ” Jason helps train wild mustangs but more importantly works with Veterans suffering from PTSD. 22 Veterans per day commit suicide. That is 22 too many.”
