Catawba Valley Farmer’s Market Holiday Market is Sat. Nov. 17

It’s once again time for the Catawba Valley Holiday Market!

The 9th annual Holiday Market will be held on Saturday, November 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Catawba Community Center.  The Center is located at 4965 Catawba Creek Road (Rt. 779), just off of Rt. 311 in “downtown” Catawba.  The first floor of the Community Center, including display area, kitchen and restrooms, is handicap accessible.  There is no admission charge and there is plenty of free parking.

The Holiday Market features the farmers, growers, bakers, artisans and crafters from the Catawba Valley Farmers Market (CVFM), along with numerous other local talented persons, for a total of 30 vendors.  All items are to be local and handmade or homegrown – no commercially-produced products.

Food producers, artists and craftsmen from the Botetourt area include the following:  Dean and Laura Bower of Hillside Plants and Produce (winter squashes – acorn, butternut and spaghetti, sweet potatoes, dinner rolls, homemade potato chips, wooden toys and puzzles, folding drying racks, crocheted items); Rhonda McDonald and Al Mahon (books for children and adults); and Elliott and Laura Muncey of Caldwell Mountain Copper & Kettle Corn (copper vessels – trays, buckets, kettles, mugs, plus kettle corn).

A list of all the vendors, including information on their products and numerous pictures, is available on CVFM’s website – https://www.catawbafarmersmarket.com/

The Catawba Volunteer Fire Department members will be selling breakfast biscuits, hot dogs, hamburgers, barbeque, soups and beverages.

The CVFM and the Holiday Market are collaborative projects of the VT Catawba Sustainability Center, the County of Roanoke, Catawba Valley Ruritan Club and the Catawba community.
