Moss in the Country remark print will benefit New Freedom Farm

The Moss in the Country Society in Daleville is raffling off a print by P. Buckley Moss to benefit New Freedom Farm in Buchanan.

“The P. Buckley Moss Society was established by Moss collectors in 1987 to foster an awareness of the art of P. Buckley Moss and to promote charitable endeavors consistent with her ideals, ” notes the website. “Every year over 500 prints are donated with a remark– something new added to a print for use to raise funds for a charity,” said MITC member Susan Kasey Richardson. The estimated value of the current donated print is $900.00

Each year, Moss in the Country picks a local charity to help. This year it is New Freedom Farm in Buchanan which helps veterans with PTSD through horse therapy.

“We normally raise about a thousand dollars,” said Richardson. Donations of a $1 per ticket are accepted for the chance to win the print (as seen in the photo.) Rachel Nichols of the Apple Barn in Troutville framed the print. Bank  of Fincastle and Bank of Botetourt donated the tickets. Between now and Nov 19, a number of sites will feature MITC members selling tickets.
