Service acknowledged at the Board of Supervisors meeting Aug. 28

Jan Smith received a proclamation lauding her time on the Social Services Administrative Board at The Botetourt County Board of Supervisor meeting on August 28. Smith had been involved in social services work in a variety of localities and positions for over 65 years before her resignation on June 29, 2018.

The supervisors also honored nine employees for years of service to the county. Those employees were Shelby L. Bryant, Penny Firestone, Elmer V. Seneker, Debra S. Tincher (5 years of service); Brandon L. Golla (10 years of service); and Clarence W. Burrell, Jr., David S. Givens, Veronica Ramsey, and Leslianne Smith (15 years of service). Each employee received a certificate of appreciation and a check in the amount of $50 plus $25 for each 5 years of service.
