Butler awarded DeMolay Outstanding Youth Award

The Roanoke Valley DeMolay were at Christopher Newport University for the annual Conclave event in late July. Jack Butler of Fincastle won the 2018 Outstanding Youth Award for the entire state.  The award  includes a $500 scholarship.

To win the award Butler submitted a bio detailing his community and school activities, an essay on how DeMolay has helped him be a better person, plus two written references. Butler is a sophomore at James River High School.

DeMolay is a function of the Masons and began in the early 20th century to promote leadership in young men.
